This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules that apply to all users of the Disqua platform ("Service"), operated by Disqua, Czech Republic. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP. This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of the Disqua Terms of Service.
We reserve the right to update this AUP at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
1. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that the Disqua platform is used lawfully, responsibly, and in a manner that does not harm other users, third parties, or Disqua's infrastructure. This policy governs what you may and may not do with the Service, and what content you may and may not send, upload, or store through it.
Disqua is designed for legitimate business communication, team collaboration, and customer support. Use of the Service for any other purpose, or in any manner not contemplated by this AUP, may result in account suspension or termination.
2. Permitted Uses
The Service may be used for the following lawful purposes:
- Business communication: Internal team messaging, announcements, project discussions, and document sharing.
- Team collaboration: Coordinating work, sharing files, conducting video calls, and using integrations to streamline workflows.
- Customer support: Using the Disqua helpdesk module to manage customer enquiries, tickets, and knowledge base articles.
- Internal tools: Building bots, webhooks, and slash commands to automate internal processes in accordance with the Disqua API terms.
- Developer use: Testing and integrating with the Disqua API for legitimate development purposes in non-production workspaces.
3. Prohibited Content
The following types of content are strictly prohibited on the Disqua platform. You must not send, upload, store, share, or transmit content that:
- Is illegal: Content that violates applicable law, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content that facilitates drug trafficking, illegal weapons trade, human trafficking, terrorism, or any other criminal activity. Such content will be immediately removed and reported to law enforcement.
- Constitutes hate speech: Content that promotes, incites, or glorifies hatred, discrimination, or violence against any individual or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.
- Is harassing or threatening: Content that harasses, intimidates, threatens, or bullies any individual, or that facilitates stalking, doxing, or targeted harassment campaigns.
- Is spam: Unsolicited commercial messages, bulk messaging, chain letters, phishing messages, or any content sent for the purpose of commercial solicitation without the recipient's consent.
- Contains malware: Viruses, trojans, ransomware, spyware, adware, keyloggers, or any other malicious code or software designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorised access to any system.
- Is deceptive: Phishing content, social engineering attacks, impersonation of individuals or organisations, or any content designed to deceive users into disclosing sensitive information.
- Infringes intellectual property: Content that infringes the copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property rights of any third party.
- Violates privacy: Personal data of third parties that you are not authorised to process, or content that constitutes an unlawful invasion of any person's privacy.
- Is pornographic or explicit: Sexually explicit content in any workspace that has not been specifically designated for adult content and age-verified in accordance with applicable law.
4. Prohibited Activities
In addition to the content restrictions above, the following activities are prohibited when using the Service:
- Reverse engineering: Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code of any part of the Disqua platform or its underlying technology.
- Unauthorised access: Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any Disqua account, workspace, server, network, or system. This includes brute-force attacks, credential stuffing, and exploiting vulnerabilities.
- Automated scraping: Using bots, crawlers, scrapers, or any automated means to extract data from the Service in bulk without Disqua's express written permission. This includes scraping message history, user data, or workspace content.
- Reselling access: Reselling, sublicensing, or providing access to the Service to third parties in a manner not expressly permitted by Disqua. Resellers must enter into a separate reseller agreement with Disqua.
- Competing products: Using the Service to develop, test, operate, or benchmark a competing product or service. This includes using the Disqua API to develop a competing messaging platform.
- Circumventing restrictions: Attempting to circumvent any rate limits, usage quotas, plan restrictions, feature gates, or other technical or administrative controls imposed by Disqua.
- Network attacks: Launching distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, flooding, or any other attack against Disqua's infrastructure, other users' accounts, or any third-party system using the Service as a vector.
- Cryptocurrency mining: Using Disqua's infrastructure for cryptocurrency mining or any other resource-intensive computation not related to the Service's intended use.
- Misrepresenting identity: Creating accounts under false identities, impersonating another person or organisation, or using the Service to misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
- Interference: Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of the Service, or the data, accounts, or experience of other users.
5. Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your Disqua account credentials. You must:
- Use a strong, unique password for your Disqua account.
- Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) where available, especially for accounts with administrative privileges.
- Not share your login credentials with anyone who is not authorised to access your account.
- Log out of the Service on shared or public devices.
- Immediately notify Disqua if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account or any other security breach.

If you discover a security vulnerability in the Disqua platform, we encourage responsible disclosure. Please report it to security@disqua.com before any public disclosure, and we will work with you to address the issue promptly.
6. Data Compliance
Where you use the Service to process personal data of third parties (including your employees, customers, or other individuals), you are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with all applicable data protection laws, including:
- The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable national implementations, if you process personal data of individuals located in the European Economic Area.
- The UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, if you process personal data of individuals located in the United Kingdom.
- Any other applicable data protection or privacy laws in the jurisdictions in which you operate.
This includes ensuring that you have a valid legal basis for processing personal data through the Service, providing required notices to data subjects, and honouring data subject rights requests. Disqua's Data Processing Agreement (DPA) applies to the processing of personal data through the Service.
7. Enforcement
Disqua reserves the right to investigate any suspected violation of this AUP. Upon detecting or receiving a report of a violation, Disqua may take one or more of the following actions at its sole discretion:
- Warning: Issue a written warning to the account holder for minor or first-time violations.
- Content removal: Remove or disable access to content that violates this AUP without prior notice.
- Temporary suspension: Temporarily suspend access to the account or workspace while an investigation is conducted.
- Permanent termination: Permanently terminate the account and all associated workspaces for serious, repeated, or wilful violations.
- Law enforcement referral: Report illegal content or activity (including CSAM, terrorism-related content, fraud, or threats of violence) to relevant law enforcement authorities and cooperate fully with any resulting investigations.
Disqua is not obligated to provide advance notice before taking enforcement action where doing so could prejudice an investigation, endanger a person's safety, or where the violation is severe.
8. Reporting Violations
If you observe content or behaviour on the Disqua platform that you believe violates this AUP, please report it to us promptly. You can report abuse by contacting:

Please include as much detail as possible, including the workspace name or URL, the nature of the violation, and any supporting screenshots or documentation. All reports are handled confidentially and will be investigated in accordance with our internal procedures.
